Red Bull and Ferrari hold strong at the top of the timing sheets, while Mercedes have some work to do if they are to be challenging tomorrow's qualifying session.
Max Verstappen completed 20 laps in the one-hour session, setting the quickest lap of the session with an impressive 1:31.936.
The two Ferrari's were not that far behind the World Champion, with Leclerc in second just under a tenth of a second behind. Charles Leclerc's teammate, Carlos Sainz, found himself in third about half a second off of Max Verstappen.
George Russell, who completed 25 laps in the Mercedes, finished the session in 4th place, less than 10 thousandths of a second behind Carlos Sainz.
For Hamilton, however, it was a session to forget as he finished in 9th place. The 7x World Champion found that he was performing well in corners but losing the majority of his time down the main straights as his W13 was plagued with a DRS malfunction.
The session was also a bit of a nightmare for McLaren as they found themselves 1.3s off the pace which was set by Verstappen, as Lando Norris set a 1:33.280 during one of his 27 laps throughout the session.
As well as Norris not exactly lighting the timings sheet on fire, Daniel Ricciardo found himself down in 18th place, just above the two Williams. However, Ricciardo can be partially forgiven by his team as it was his first proper run in the MCL35 having missed pre-season testing following returning a positive result for COVID-19.
