During Friday’s opening FP1 session a local Aramco oil facility which is just 12 miles from the circuit was attacked by Yemini terrorists.

The attack was the second on this facility in just a matter of days and as a result the event holders of the Saudi Arabia GP, the FIA, drivers, and team principles are discussing current options which they have - with one option reportedly being cancelling the Grand Prix to maintain the safety of everyone on track.

Before the beginning of free practice 2 drivers and team principles held a meeting where they were all updated with the current situation, with another meeting scheduled for the end of the practice session.

We will update our social media when more information is available.
