Frenkie De Jong, who has made 157 appearances for Barcelona, has been told to join Liverpool by a Qatari migrant worker during an open training session.
In the week leading up to the FIFA World Cup, migrant workers who have helped to build the infrastructure for the 22nd World Cup have been invited to take part in training sessions with the world’s best.
One of the migrant workers who partook in a Netherlands training session was a Liverpool fan, who De Jong claims tried to sway the Dutchman to make the move to Merseyside to play with Dutch teammate Virgil van Dijk.
Frenkie De Jong was reportedly in talks with Manchester United in the summer of 2022, but any move eventually fell through as the Dutchman was not fully sold on Ten Hag’s project.
The Dutchman has a market value of £50 million (Transfermarkt) despite moving to the Calatan capital for a reported €85 million.
Would you like to see De Jong play for Jurgen Klopp?
Absolutely!
Unsure, there are better players out there!
Absolutely not!
