Erling Haaland, the 21-year-old wonderkid, is set for a move to Manchester as the Citizens seem keen on activating the player's £75million release clause in the summer.

The £75million price tag seems cheap when you compare it to the figures thrown around for Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid but when you take into consideration the eye-watering wage of £500,00 per week it no longer seems such a steal.

The half a million pounds per week would make the striker the fourth highest-earning footballer that is currently still active.

Furthermore, the Norwegian’s release clause is much lower than the player's actual value because the clause was agreed at the beginning of his tenure in Dortmund and, at the time it was agreed, seemed an appropriate price tag to put on the player.

Haaland, despite only being 21 years of age, has made 179 professional appearances scoring 131 goals and assisting a further 36. The forward averages a goal or an assist once every 89 minutes.

The goal-to-game ratio for the forward is, frankly, quite scary when you consider just how young he is and how much more he could develop in years to come - furthermore playing in an arguably more competitive league, such as the Premier League, could take the players ability to an entirely new level.

The move would also be huge for the Citizens as they have been without a striker for the entire 21/22 season as a result of Sergio Aguero's departure to Catalunya to play for Barcelona.

Bringing in a world-class striker like Haaland will mean that they will finally have a near-complete squad, which would undoubtedly make them the strongest team in Europe.
