Christian Lungard, the former Renault reserve driver, claims that a Formula One car is the easiest car he has ever driven.

Lungard claims that it was “very easy” to find the limit in a Formula One car, but pushing anything to find “that last second is very demanding, due to the downforce”.
The Dane also discusses his transition from the Formula series’ to IndyCar, claiming that the transition is very difficult as you have to be “fast at all times” when in IndyCar.
Furthermore, the Dane also mentions how the change in tyres is one which he found very challenging when moving from Pirelli rubber to Firestone. Christian Lungard claimed that “the biggest difference for me has been the tyres, the behaviour of the cars does not change that much [between the two series’]. In qualifying and in the race you can push much harder [than the Pirelli’s], the Firestone tyres have allowed me to do a better job!”
In the same interview Lungard also expressed how much he would like for Sebastian, Vettel to join him in IndyCar.
“I think it would be very fun for Sebastian to come and drive an IndyCar. It would be a difficult transition”, he claimed.
“It’s a car where you have to put in a lot of effort and work very hard. It’s not the car that takes you, you have to take the car [to get results]. That’s why I would like many current Formula One drivers to come and try the [IndyCar] series” the Dane commented to finish.
