Ahead of Liverpool’s Boxing Day clash with Aston Villa, Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press and has suggested that the future is bright at the club.

Jurgen Klopp was asked about potential incomings and whether the club would be in a position to splash potentially £200 million on Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez.

The German responded that he is ‘not against investment’ before mentioning how ‘we will see what the future brings, but I am convinced it will be good’.

Other notable mentions from the German’s press conference are medical updates on players absent for the Red’s clash versus Manchester City.

Klopp confirmed that Firmino and James Milner will miss the Boxing Day clash, stating that both players will be ‘out for a couple of games’.

Updates about Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold were also provided. Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Van Dijk will be there to face Aston Villa and that ‘hopefully’ Trent (Alexander-Arnold) will be there too.

The Liverpool coach also mentioned how Alexander-Arnold is not in full training sessions yet due to reportedly lacking match fitness.
