It has been three weeks since Fenway Sports Group (FSG) announced that they had put Liverpool Football Club up for sale.
In that time there have been various reports and rumours circulating about who a potential buyer of one of the most lucrative products in the world could be.
Potential buyers have spanned from FSG contacts in the US, all the way to the middle-east with Saudi Arabia and Qatar reportedly interested in purchasing the club.
In light of Saudi links, Liverpool have reportedly set their eyes on an ‘unstoppable XI’ should the takeover happen.
Most of the squad would remain the same, but with some sizeable incomings happening should they receive Saudi backing.
Alisson would remain between the sticks, with the preferred back four being Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
Midfield is where the Saudi backing would become apparent, with Liverpool aiming to have a midfield three of Fabinho, Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount.
In front of what would be an incredibly strong and youthful midfield, Jurgen Klopp would aim to establish a front 3 of Mohammed Salah, Kylian Mbappe and Darwin Nunez.
The unstoppable XI would, of course, come at a significant cost but should the club go into the hands of the middle east then it’ll be a drop in the water for the people who would have to drop a reported $3 billion on purchasing one of the most financially secure assets in the world.
A sale of LFC to middle-eastern owners would allow the club to abandon the 'sell to buy' model that fans have become accustomed to and allow them to spend in a way that competes with the methods of Manchester City, Newcastle United and PSG.
