Liverpool in pursuit of Fulham's Carvalho deal before deadline day

Liverpool are in talks with Fulham over a possible move for Fabio Carvalho, and hope to have the deal completed before the end of the transfer window.

The Reds, who today announced the signing of Luis Diaz, are in talks with Fulham over a move for 19 year old Fabio Carvalho.

Liverpool are said to have tabled a bid in the region of £3 to £5 million for the player and the two clubs are now in discussions over a potential move for the Portuguese man.

If a deal is to be struck it is likely that Carvalho will return to Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season, as not to weaken his teams push for promotion and to ensure that the club receive a proper fee for the player as opposed to a lesser compensation fee that would come with him being out of contract in the summer.

Fulham head coach, Marco Silva, has already publicly mentioned his determination to keep the player at the club beyond the end of the month.

The two clubs have dealt with each other in the past - with Liverpool signing Harvey Elliot in the summer of 2019 for a £1.2m compensation fee and Fulham taking Harry Wilson the opposite way two years later in the summer of 2021 for £12million.
