Liverpool smashed 6 past Leeds as they won 6-0, closing the gap at the top of the table to just three points.

The Reds started the game quickly, piling pressure onto Leeds before they were awarded a penalty in the 15th minute after the Leeds player handled the ball in his own penalty area. Mohammed Salah stepped up to take the penalty and buried it into the bottom right corner.

Mo Salah was involved again 15 minutes later as he set up a wandering Joel Matip who emphatically smashed the ball into the Leeds net, giving Meslier no chance.
Just 5 minutes later Sadio Mané was brought down in the penalty area, leaving Michael Oliver no choice but to point to the spot for the second time. Salah stepped up again and smashed it into the top right corner, bagging his second of the evening.

Jurgen Klopp and his team headed into the halftime break 3-0 up - leaving Leeds with a mountain to climb.
A slightly more tame Liverpool side came out in the second half as it looked as if they were trying to conserve their energy ahead of the League Cup final on Sunday.
For the majority of the second half, Leeds looked poor and as if they had given up - providing Liverpool with plenty of room to attack gaps in their defence.
As a result of the lack of fight that Leeds showed, Sadio Mane bagged a brace to take the score to 5-0 before Virgil van Dijk scored a free header in the 92nd minute to take the final score to 6-0.
The emphatic 6-0 victory for Liverpool saw them climb to within 3 points of Manchester City for the first time since December, meaning that the title race is well and truly back on.
An embarrassing display from Leeds sees them sit just 3 points above the relegation zone despite having played more games than the majority of teams below them.
